Casino entry levies for Singaporeans and PRs to rise by 50%

Casino Control (Entry Levy) Regulations 2010: In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 116(2) and (5)(c), 117(1) and 200 of the Casino Control Act, the Casino Regulatory Authority of Singapore, with the approval of the Minister for Home Affairs, hereby makes the following Regulations: PART I . PRELIMINARY: Citation and commencement: 1. These Regulations may be cited as the Casino The casino entry levies for Singaporeans and permanent residents visiting the two integrated resorts (IRs) will increase by 50 per cent and take effect at midnight on Thursday (4 April), the authorities said on Wednesday. Regulations on entry levy provide details on: Manner in which entry levy is to be paid; Pre-payment of entry levy; Entry levy for over-stay; Duty of casino operator to inform patrons of entry levy; Prohibited transactions in relation to entry levy; Entry levy collection requirements; Duties of casino operator in relation to collection of entry levy Residents are required to pay entry levy prior to entering the casino premises. Only persons 21 years old and above are eligible to enter into the casino premises. Entry levies are strictly non-refundable and non-transferable in any circumstances (including to those on Exclusion Order or Visit Limit Order or Persona Non-Grata prohibition notice). A fine of up to S$1,000 for entering the casino 3.3 Prior to exiting the Casino, it is an individual’s responsibility to check that his/her Entry Levy is valid at the kiosks located near the Casino exits. 3.4 Individuals whose Entry Levy has expired may proceed to the Casino Cashier or Entry Levy Kiosks located near the Casino exits to purchase the applicable Entry Levy/Levies due for the over-stay period before exiting the Casino.
